I. Love. Wimbledon.

Tennis is something I really love, whether it is playing or watching. So for me I really enjoy watching Wimbledon on the TV, it gets me in the summery mood!

This time last year I went to Wimbledon with one of my best friends as a spontaneous trip from London! We didn't have tickets so got in the queue at around 5pm hoping to get in for the evening as people left. Whilst we were around queue number 13000 we managed to get in and had the best time!

Waiting in the queue was actually so fun as there were SO many people... we were worried we might not get in after all but it started moving quite quickly. We had a picnic tea whilst we waited and were even given a 'Guide to Queueing at Wimbledon' haha!

It was just so fun to walk around the Wimbledon grounds and watch various matches on the less popular courts. The atmosphere was incredible and it was especially fun to watch some tennis on "Murray Mound" or "Henman Hill" on the big screen!

Even though I'm not going again this year, I cannot wait to watch all the matches on TV, and if you are a fan, I would really recommend the Wimbledon app. It can be quite slow but it gives you all the up to date results and even gives you live scores as well as order of play!

p.s. sorry I haven't been posting recently, I have been on holiday with my family in France (blog post to follow!) and so now I'm back hopefully I can start posting again more regularly :-)

My May Favourites blog as it took me ages to put together but was so much fun and I'm really happy with how it turned out

4. What's your dream job?
I still don't know what I want to do when I'm older but I think I would really enjoy planning events or in advertising/marketing
My dream job would be acting in films but I'm definitely not good enough!

5. What's your next blog post going to be?
I've been meaning to do this blog post for a while now but hopefully I'll do a clothes haul blog as I've got quite a few new summer pieces I want to share...

6. You are stranded on a desert island; name 5 people you'd want to be stuck with...
This is a surprisingly hard question! I can't think whether I'm expected to choose celebrities or friends haha!
okay okay I'm going to go for celebrities/well known people...

Nail Varnish Galore.

Having painted nails is like having a tan, it makes everything better.
I think it is so important to take care of your nails as they are so noticeable and can really bring an outfit together and make your hands look so much nicer!

I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with nail varnish and I struggle to go into Boots and not buy a new colour! I love how many shades you can get, each one slightly different and therefore needed to add to my collection...

At the moment I am loving the pink/nude colours. I find that having a neutral nail colour is very classic and is also convenient as it goes with any outfit! But also pink is quite a nice summery, bright colour and makes me feel a bit more girly.

No7 'Milan 70'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Rose Libertine'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Caramel Cupcake'//
Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Ethereal'// Jack Wills 'Blush'

Rimmel is by far my favourite brand of nail varnish and whilst all of their nail varnishes are good, practically all of my colours are Rimmel 60 Seconds as I find that it gives good coverage and because it dries so fast it very rarely smudges! I'm a fairly impatient person and so waiting for nail varnish to dry is not really my forte.

Rimmel Lycra Pro 'Aqua Cool'// Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish 'Tangy Tangerine'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Sun Downer'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Caramel Cupcake'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Rose Libertine'// Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Rapid Ruby'

However whilst Rimmel is my go-to brand, I have been pleasantly surprised by these brands below.
1 - I got given this Fearne nail varnish for Christmas and was very skeptical about how good it would be, however I can genuinely say it is my favourite red nail varnish. I would definitely recommend it.
2 - Whilst I knew that Barry M was a good brand for nail varnish, for some reason I never really tested any out. I got given the 'confetti nail effects' in 'sour apple' by a friend and it is honestly the coolest thing! You apply it over a base layer of nail varnish (I usually go for pink/nude) and it looks amazing! However the reason I haven't done it to show you is that it is a nightmare to take off and takes absolutely forever. So be warned...
3 - This Jack Wills nail varnish is pricy at £6, but it is a lovely pale pink/nude colour and I really love wearing it as it makes me feel very elegant.

1 - Fearne 'Heart Ache'// 2 - Barry M 'Sour Apple'// 3 - Jack Wills 'Blush'

For my base coat or if I don't have time to paint my nails any colour, I use the Sally Hansen 'Hard as Nails' strengthening varnish. I have quite weak nails and this varnish really helps them stay strong and prevents them breaking too much.

I apologise that the following demonstration nails were not painted particularly well but I thought it would be nice to show you a couple of the colours actually on nails!

--> This pink is a classic and so good as an everyday nail varnish as it goes with pretty much any outfit! Sadly I'm running out and will have to get a new one very soon.
Base coat - Sally Hansen 'Hard as Nails'// Colour - No7 'Milan 70'

--> Whilst this orange colour is quite "out there" I really love how bright it is and think it is perfect for summer.
Base coat - Sally Hansen 'Hard as Nails'// Colour - Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish 'Tangy Tangerine'

I would love to hear any recommendations of brands of nail varnish you have been loving so I can branch out a bit from Rimmel, or any colours that are particularly amazing!

May Favourites.

There are so many things I have been loving this month! Here are my May favourites:

1 - Wake Me Up foundation by Rimmel
I love this product! It gives really good light overall coverage and does not give a cakey foundation look at all. I also find it stays on pretty well for most of the day. Very good for an every day foundation as it's fairly cheap! (approx. £8.99)

2 - Quick Fix Facials from Boots
This is a gel like mask that you apply to your face evenly and let it set for 10 minutes after which you peel it off. I have found this to be such a lifesaver as it really helps even skin tone and reduce blemishes as well as hydrate my skin. I have really sensitive skin but have not had any reactions to it at all which means that I shall definitely be buying it again! (approx. £4.99)

3 - Master Precise eyeliner by Maybelline
The tip on this eyeliner looks like a very small paintbrush meaning, like the name suggests, it is extremely precise and gives you a very good line above the lashes. Very reasonable price and comes out very easily and dark black. You only need to sweep across your eyelid once which helps with accuracy! (approx. £5.99)

4 - Lip Butter (Raspberry Rose) by Nivea
This is such a lovely lip salve, I use it literally all the time! It makes my lips really soft, smells really good and isn't sticky at all. (approx. £2.10)

5 - Elemis daily moisturiser
This is actually a sample I got free in a magazine that I discovered recently and decided to try as I am allergic to pretty much all moisturisers and have been looking for a new one for a very long time! Surprisingly I didn't experience a reaction to this moisturiser and have found it to leave my face feeling fresh and hydrated. I will definitely be investing in a proper size of this moisturiser!

6 - I am recently loving hoop earrings! These are my favourites as I think they are so pretty and cute being so small.

7 - Tangle Teaser
I have dead straight hair and have always just used an ordinary hairbrush, however my Tangle Teaser has changed my life! I makes it so much easier to brush your hair when its wet or even slightly knotty and even with my hair I notice a difference in ease when brushing my hair. I now use it every day and barely ever use my normal hairbrush anymore. (approx. £10.99)

8 - I got this River Island purse after deciding that it was time to replace my purse I've had since I was about 14. It instantly caught my eye due to the beautiful pastel spring/summer colours and I couldn't resist purchasing it! (approx. £17)

9 - This bag from River Island makes me so happy! I bought it a couple of months ago but haven't gotten it out until recently as I was waiting for the sunshine. It's extremely bright, almost neon orange which is quite out there compared to what I would normally choose. However I am obsessed with orange at the moment and could't resist buying it... (approx. £20)

10 - Rimmel nail varnish is an unhealthy obsession of mine and I rarely make it out of Boots without purchasing a new colour. These two colours have been particular favourites recently as they're both bright and beautiful summer colours. Also as I mentioned earlier I have a real love of orange at the moment and so these nail varnishes are perfect! The colours are '705 Tangy Tangerine' and '440 Sun Downer' (approx. £2.99/£3.69 respectively)

I can't believe it is June already, this year has gone so fast!
